Quinta Bela Sao Tiago, Funchal

This very welcoming Quinta is in the more interesting older part of the city and has super views over the bay some 200 metres away. An excellent choice of shops, bars and restaurants are within a walk of five to ten minutes.

ROOMS

The original Quinta was built some 100 years ago and has been extended to offer a total of 64 comfortable guest rooms. Each one has cable TV, a mini-bar, tea/coffeemaking facilities (on request), heating/airconditioning, bathrobes and hairdryer. Inland rooms face neighbouring houses, but we are offering rooms that overlook the gardens or with a full seaview and balcony. The attractive junior suites on the top floor have sloping ceilings and a sitting area. The full suites have a separate lounge, are very spacious and are ideal for families with older children or just for added comfort. Two family rooms, no balcony, are available in the attic. Junior suites and suites have a separate shower in the bathroom.

LIVING

Breakfast is an extensive buffet service with homemade jams, in the Winter Garden or on the terrace with views towards the bay. Half board can be booked for all or part of your stay, to enjoy a four course menu for dinner. If you would prefer to take your half board as lunch, that is easily arranged with the hotel. There are also regular barbecues during high season.

Exchange dining is an attractive way to sample the kitchens at Quinta do Estreito, Quinta Das Vistas and do Monte with five restaurants to choose from with a free shuttle service.

There is also an à la carte menu with a small credit for half board guests and room service is available 07.30-23.00. The cocktail bar has live music three times a week. 

The outdoor (heatable in winter) freshwater pool and terraces look out over the gardens and the banana plantations, sunbeds, pool towels and umbrellas are free. The pool has a small section for children. There is also a Jacuzzi, sauna a small gym and massages can be arranged. If you are a golfer, the hotel will arrange tee-off times and transport to either of Madeira’s courses. There is a small lido on the water’s edge offering pool or sea bathing (small charge). Free Wi-fi throughout the hotel and English newspapers available.

For some personal pampering guests can visit the Chandra Spa at Quinta das Vistas, just hop on the hotel shuttle.
